Terms

How the FarnorID pilot works: what it does, what it leaves to apps, and your responsibilities.

Last updated Draft · pending legal review

The short version

  • FarnorID signs you in. The app you sign in to decides what you may do there.
  • You can revoke an app at any time. Revoking stops FarnorID access at once, but it does not delete your account in that app.
  • Use FarnorID honestly and keep your passkeys and recovery codes safe.
  • This is a pilot: no uptime guarantee (no SLA).
  • You can delete your account whenever you like.

What FarnorID does#

FarnorID is an authentication and single sign-on provider. It confirms who you are, lets you reuse that sign-in across participating apps, shows the sign-ins it observed, and lets you revoke each app's access.

What FarnorID does not do#

  • It does not decide whether an app lets you in, what you can do there, or what you pay. That is the app's responsibility.
  • It does not see what you do inside an app.
  • It does not delete your account or data in an app, cancel billing, or turn off other ways of signing in to that app.

Revoking an app#

When you revoke an app, FarnorID blocks new sign-ins, stops token refresh, and cancels unused codes immediately. We then ask the app to end your session, and show you the result separately: confirmed, pending, failed, or unsupported. A token or session the app already holds may last until it expires or the app ends it, so some apps need you to sign out there too. Reconnecting later needs your explicit approval again.

Your account#

  • Keep your passkeys and recovery codes private. We cannot reset a protected account from an email address alone.
  • Give accurate information. You are responsible for activity done with your credentials.
  • You can change your name, photo and email, and remove passkeys, in Account.

Acceptable use#

Do not use FarnorID to attack or probe it or other services, bypass its limits, scrape or overload it, impersonate someone, or register an app or domain you do not control. App owners must configure only apps and callback URLs they are entitled to use. We may disable accounts or registrations that break these rules.

Deleting your account#

Delete your account any time from Account. Connections are revoked first, then your personal data is erased as described in the Privacy page.

No service-level agreement#

The pilot is provided as is, without a guaranteed uptime, support response time, or compensation for outages. Availability targets in our plans are goals, not promises.

Changes#

We may update these terms during the pilot and will show the date of the latest version here.
